Matthew Maidment is a Coventry-based producer who builds experimental beats and unforgettable event experiences. Every project starts the same way: he grabs an idea, gives it a personality, and then turns it into something you’ll want to come back to again and again.
Who is Mr Shift?
Mr Shift is Matthew Maidment, an independent producer in Coventry who loves a good sample and a strong beat. He rebuilds every sound into something new and fresh everytime.
If you’re new to the music, start with the CVLT Cuts series.
Music, made in Coventry
Coventry is the home of Mr Shift. Over the years, he has performed all round the city, and in 2023 he opened for Godvia Festival. He’s also part of the local community that keeps the scene moving.
Because of that connection, Coventry shapes both the sound and the way he runs every project.
Beyond Mr Shift
Mr Shift is only part of what Matthew does. The rest is digital content, which he has been making since 2012 across web, social, video and campaigns.
Whether it’s a campaign or a beat, the detail and the storytelling stay the same.
